Laminate flooring has become a popular choice for many homeowners due to its ability to closely emulate today's most popular hard surfaces, especially hardwood planks and ceramic or stone tiles. Besides the great textures and designs, laminate flooring offers improved durability, easier maintenance and affordability compared to other types of hard surface floors. These floors are extremely resistant to wear, stains and sunlight fading. The beautifully rich textured finishes make these floors a great alternative for most areas in the home.
IQ Floors promotes only quality brands of laminate flooring, as we recognize a huge difference in engineering and strength between our brands and the cheaper brands.

Specially
engineered with layered construction, laminate flooring can be
installed almost anywhere in the home, including over dry concrete
slabs, wooden subfloors and many types of existing floor coverings.
The low clearance space height means laminates are particularly
suited for renovation and restoring old houses where floor
thicknesses can be a problem.
Mohawk Laminate Flooring offers a wide selection of rich colors and designs in several different grades, including laminates with pre-attached underlayments to help deaden sound and keep the floor warmer and "embossed-in-register" designs in which the surface texture exactly matches the image texture for highly realistic look and feel of real hardwood, tile and stones styles.
We strongly recommend the acoustic moisture barrier underlayment for your laminate floor. Keeping the structural warranty in place with the moisture barrier, but adding an acoustic value will make your laminate floor sound rich and solid.
Laminate is one of a few products that can easily be done by yourself. With little time and only a few tools, a good weekend will allow you to complete any laminate installation.
The patented locking system that we created revolutionized the industry, eliminating the need for glue. With Uniclic®, you simply snap the planks or tiles together - using either an angled or sliding motion.

Beveled edges ensure the planks click into each other to form a solid, lasting connection. The under lip of the groove is shaped like a wedge, spreading the tension and protecting it from damage.
Used to join wood flooring with carpeted areas.
Provides a smooth transition between floors of different heights and materials.
Placed on stairs and landings to cover exposed edges of wood flooring.
Joins two areas of wood flooring of the same height, usually in doorways or thresholds.
Used to secured trims and molding to subfloor.
To show what an average warranty for laminate flooring looks like, we have included a 2011 Formica® Flooring Residential 25 Year Limited Warranty. This may or may not apply to your floor, but we include it here to demonstrate what it looks like and how it reads. Please contact us directly for your specific product's warranty.
Formica® Flooring warrants to the original residential purchaser for
25 years from the date of purchase,
that:
1. The design layer of the floor will not wear through, fade from
normal sunlight or artificial lighting or stain under normal use
conditions in a dry indoor residential setting.
2. The floor will be free of manufacturing defects.
3. The floor joints will remain secure under normal use conditions.
4. The floor will resist water damage caused by normal household
spills and cleaning when our recommended cleaning practices are
used.

There is a huge range for laminates, with the cheaper side close to .99 per square foot on up. Here are "averages" from our store:

Mohawk Colorado Springs Laminate Floors can be installed of many types of existing floors, such as ceramic tile, vinyl, and hardwood. Have your local Mohawk Flooring dealer make an inspection to determine if the existing flooring is suitable for this purpose. Never try to install a floating floor over another floating floor.
For chips, deep scratches and gouges there are colored burn-in, filler sticks available which are used with special electric knives to repair these areas. If the damage to the plank is too severe you can have the damaged plank replaced without destroying the rest of the floor. For plank replacements there are special tools, router bits, and wood splines available to make the job easier. We suggest you leave plank replacement up to a professional installer.
For minor scratches in your laminate floor there are special, color-coordinating pencils that may be used to fill in scratches. See your Mohawk Laminate Flooring dealer for more information. By using some common sense precautions you can help keep your floor looking like new. Use walkoff mats in front off all doorways and felt pads under all furniture legs. Never drag heavy objects over the floor, instead place 1/4" underlayment or plywood down first and then slide the heavy object across the underlayment panels. For more information see our Laminate Floor Care.
Yes, it is possible for dogs and cats to damage any type of flooring, including laminate flooring. Although Mohawk Laminate Floors are extremely durable they can be scratched by untrimmed pet claws. Keeping dogs and cats claws trimmed will help your floor look beautiful for many years.
Hardened glue left over after your floor is installed can be removed with Acetone™ nail polish remover or special glue solvents.
